• 2 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1 ½ Teaspoons Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 ½ Cups Lukewarm Water
  • Pinch Of Salt
  • Oil For Frying
  • Honey
  • Ground Cinnamon
  • Ground Nuts

Whisk all ingredients together until well blended.  Cover bowl with a towel and let rise for approximately 30 minutes

In a deep pot or fryer, heat oil until hot.  Wet your left hand and take a handful of the dough into it, as you squeeze your hand into a fist, there will be a ball that forms, on top of your hand, lift the ball with a wet spoon using your right hand and gently place into the hot oil.  Repeat the process quickly until you have a few of the dough balls in the pot.

Using a slotted spoon, turn the dough over and cook on all sides until golden brown.  Remove the loukoumades to a paper towel lined plate as they become golden brown.  Add more loukoumades as room is made.

Drizzle honey over the cooked loukoumades while they are still hot, sprinkle with ground cinnamon and ground nuts.
