- 1 Quince
- ½ Cup Sugar
- 1/3 Cup Mavrodaphne Wine (A Greek sweet wine)
- 1 ½ Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
- ½ Stick Cinnamon
- 2 Tablespoons Whole Cloves (Or ½ Teaspoon Ground Cloves)
Peel the quince, cut in half, core and baste with mavrodphne wine. Roll in sugar and place in shallow baking dish. Insert whole cloves into the quince and sprinkle with ground cinnamon. (if you do not have whole cloves you may use sprinkle with ½ teaspoon of ground cloves). Pour the remainder of the mavrodaphne wine over the quince followed by the remainder of the sugar. Add the cinnamon stick and bake in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for about 30 minutes or until fork tender, and a thick syrup has formed.
